Diwali Greeting Activity/ Visit to Post Office

Before the advent of digital technology, we used to receive Diwali cards made by friends and family. These personalised cards brought smiles on our faces. Nowadays with the arrival of technology people have stopped sending personalised greeting cards. To revive the tradition of Handmade cards, the teachers motivated and guided children to prepare handmade cards in the school. They then hopped on to their wingers and rushed to the nearest BodakdevPostoffice with their teachers to post these cards to their parents. These cards will always remain unique to the parents and will serve as a memoir for them.

Story Telling Sessions

Everyone loves to listen to stories. There is hardly anyone among us who has not heard a story during our childhood. Unique storytelling sessions take place at Bodakdev School. The sessions are a fun-filled activity wherein the children are not only listeners but also participate in telling, guessing, manipulating and this turns out to be a joyous learning experience for them.

National Milk Day

Learning in Bodakdev takes place through various classroom activities, field visits and practical learning sessions. On National Milk Day a practical learning session was held on the campus to make the children aware of the health benefits of ‘ Milk’ the superfood which they daily drink before coming to school. The activity revolved around the process of milking, pasteurisation and the discussion on the health benefits of milk. A Cowherd was invited to the campus who demonstrated the milking process in front of the children; then the milk was boiled by the teachers to explain the pasteurisation process. A small milk parlour was set up, and toddlers were shown the various products made by milk. Teachers also motivated the toddlers to include milk-the superfood in their daily diet.

We believe that children learn best through exploration and experience and hence we provide opportunities for the little ones to participate in sensory play in the campus. During the sand play sessions, toddlers explored the properties of sand and could touch, dig, scoop and play with sand. Children loved the tactile experience of feeling and swirling sand through their fingers and toes. As the little ones filled their bottles with sand, they also could relate to basic mathematical terms of full and empty, heavy and light.
